Our Mission

With community at our core, Palo Alto Players is the home for creating exceptional theatre experiences that inspire, entertain, and enrich the lives of our local artists and audiences.

Our History

The Peninsula’s first theatre company, Palo Alto Players has been continuously producing professional quality live theatre in Palo Alto since 1931. Based at the Lucie Stern Theater since 1933, Palo Alto Players produces a season of comedies, dramas, classics and musicals from September to June. A beloved cultural treasure of the peninsula, audiences and artists come from all over the Bay Area to be a part of Palo Alto Players’ productions.

Board Members

Board of Directors serve as an Ambassador on behalf of Palo Alto Players – supporting and communicating our value to the community; this includes an expectation that PAP will become among one of your highest philanthropic priorities and you are committed to attending performances, galas, and other fundraising and social events.

Our Staff

Responsible for running the day to day operations of the organization, our objective is to facilitate the success of individual productions. Staff positions help ensure good attendance in safe facilities. They help ensure the theatre remains financially solvent, that it is well run, and that it is perceived as an asset to the community it serves.

Production History

Palo Alto Players was formed in 1931 when a group of 100 like-minded citizens gathered together to create a theatre dedicated to its community. Explore our productions going all the back to the 1930s.
